(영어문법) 동사의 과거형

동사의 과거시제

He was late for the meeting.

They were not at home at that time.

Peter studied math last night.

We arrived in Athens five days ago.

He didn’t have breakfast in the morning.

Did you see the Parthenon? – Yes, I did. / No, I didn’t.

Did he live in Vancouver two years ago? ― Yes, he did. / No, he didn’t.

의문문은 ‘Was/Were+주어~?’ 또는 “Did+주어+동사원형~?의 형태로 쓰며 의문사가 있는 경우에는 ‘의문사+was/were+주어 ~?’ 또는 ‘의문사+did+주어+동사원형 ~?’으로 쓴다.

Note

> 수식어구의 순서: 하나의 명사를 수식하는 말에는 소유격, 크기, 모양, 색깔, 재료를 나타내는 형용사 등 동사의 여러 가지가 올 수 있다. 이때의 수식어구들은 다음과 같은 순서를 따른다.

ㆍ소유격 > 일반형용사

his old harmonica (그의 오래된 하모니카)

ㆍ주관적 형용사 > 사실적 형용사

a beautiful (아름다운 큰 나무)

ㆍ크기 > 모양 > 나이 > 색 > 출산 > 재료

a large round table (커다란 둥근 탁자)

a small black plastic bag (작은 검정 비닐 봉투)
