In English we often grope words together to make one meaning.
Example:
The two separate words trouble and maker each have their own meanings. In English we can also put these words together as troublemaker, which means someone who makes trouble.
easy + going = easy-going: not worried too much about things.
Some compound words are written as one word, others have a hyphen and others are written as two words. There are no simple rules about the use of hyphen in compound words.
